Protecting Young Women & Girls from Sex Trafficking
Meet our
Founder
Rev. Dr. Vanett R. Rather
"It disturbed my heart when I learned how young girls, some as young as 12 years old, were being bought and sold in America's sex trade. I couldn't shake the heartbreak I felt and I just couldn't let it go. As a person of faith, I understood that when something disturbs your heart, that 'something' is your work to do!"
FACTS ABout
SEX TRAFFICKING
-
Black girls are disproportionately impacted by sex trafficking. Black girls make up 13% of the US population, but they account for over 50% of all trafficking victims.

-
The average age of a trafficking victim is 14 - 16 years old.

-
Traffickers target girls with certain vulnerabilities like instability in the home, girls who've experienced sexual trauma, girls in foster care, etc.

-
Self-esteem and self-love are a girl's best front-line defense against the manipulation traffickers use

-
Sex Trafficking thrives because there is a demand for sex with children, and there are those who are eager to supply the demand

-
Sex Trafficking is modern-day slavery where young vulnerable women and girls are bought and sold in America's Sex Trade

Support Girls
The best front-line defense young women and girls have against the manipulation traffickers use is healthy self-esteem. Make sure the girls in your family, church, and community know their value and worth.
